Impractical Jokers star Joe Gatto jokes about fighting Mike Tyson in 2025 after his defeat to Jake Paul. The joke comes as he announces his new fitness TV show and returns to screens for the first time since 2022.
The former Joker, 48, posted a mock promotional image on social media showing him promoting a fictional fight with former boxing champion Mike Tyson. But the real purpose of the ad is to promote his new health and fitness program, where he plans to push his body to the limit.
Gatto posted on X.com: “Exciting news! In 2025, I will be stepping into the ring with the legend @MikeTyson. Training starts 1/1/25 and you can catch the whole thing on @hulu. My new show #FightingWeight will document my transformation from fat to fit. Thank you to everyone who supported this project and @Bellagio for hosting the event this summer. New year. New life.”
On the other hand, Mike Tyson is still recovering from his November 15 defeat to Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium. The 58-year-old former world champion may never again appear in the ring, whether in an exhibition or professional fight.
The defeat was controversial due to the 29-year age gap between Tyson and his opponent, but he expressed gratitude for the outcome of the fight. “It’s one of those situations where you lose and you win at the same time,” he said after the fight on Netflix. “I’m grateful for the opportunity. For my kids to see me stand in the ring and fight for eight rounds with a fighter half my age in front of a packed stadium is an experience no man could ask for.”
If Tyson decides not to return to the ring, his 40-year career will end with a record of 50-7-0, including 44 knockouts. He last held the WBA and WBC titles in 1996 before losing them to Evander Holyfield.
