Released on March 15, 2024, the digital single “FRI(END)S” recently crossed the 600 million streaming mark on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform. With this achievement, V now has three solo songs that have exceeded 600 million streams: “Love Me Again,” “Winter Ahead,” and “FRI(END)S.”

“FRI(END)S” is a Pop Soul R&B track featuring a sweet melody and witty lyrics. Through the song, V showcased his diverse vocal color by freely transitioning between his deep voice and soft falsetto.
The song debuted at No. 65 on Billboard’s main singles chart, the Hot 100, without the support of a full album release. It also reached No. 3 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 5 on the Global 200 chart. On the UK Official Charts, the single peaked at No. 13 on the UK Singles Chart and remained there for two consecutive weeks. Additionally, it debuted at No. 3 on the Official Big Top 40, the UK’s largest radio chart, with only two days of tracking.

“FRI(END)S” also topped the Worldwide iTunes Chart and the European iTunes Chart. In 2024, the song reached No. 1 on iTunes charts in 100 countries around the world. Both Amazon Music and Apple Music selected “FRI(END)S” as one of the “Best K-pop Songs of 2024.”
In the music video, which was filmed in England, V portrayed contrasting characters when alone and when with a lover. The music video topped YouTube’s Worldwide Trending Music chart for 14 consecutive days. He also became the first K-pop artist to reach No. 1 on the U.S. Tidal Top Video chart.
“FRI(END)S” was also selected as part of the soundtrack for Season 3 of the popular American drama series.
