Is that why he died?
Chance died on the July 28 episode of The Young and the Restless. We’re not sure why. The character already had nothing to do. Couldn’t he have continued doing nothing off-screen, and Nina wouldn’t have had to lose another 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, while Jill could have stayed focused on her health? Guess not. We sure hope there was a good story reason for his demise. Could it have been a means to give Abby something to do?
Out of Sight, Out of Mind
Abby (Melissa Ordway) is an Abbot, a Newman, and a Chancellor (kind of). So why is she never a key player in all the corporate drama? What if Chance’s (Conner Floyd) death is the thing that puts her straight in the center of the action? Not for herself, but for her son, Dominic.
Parent Trap
Dominic is the biological 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 of Abby and Devon (Bryton James), though he was originally supposed to be just a sperm donor. He changed his mind and ended up marrying Abby, to boot.
But legally, Dominic is the son of Chance, the grandson of Nina (Tricia Cast), and the great-grandson of Jill (Jess Walton). Which means he has certain rights and privileges.
Mama Bear
What if Chance’s death inspires Abby to fight for what she has suddenly decided is Dominic’s 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡right—the company started by Kay (Jeanne Cooper), made successful by Kay’s second husband, who was the father of Jill’s son, Phillip, who was the father of Chance.
Yeah, that makes sense. Chancellor Industries should belong to Dominic! (Well, it makes as much sense as Billy [Jason Thompson], Jill’s other son, thinking it should belong to him.)
True Colors
We’ve been waiting for Abby to serve a purpose, and for her Newman and Abbott natures to come out. We don’t understand why Chance had to die. Maybe it was to give Abby a chance to shine?
