We were sure that General Hospital had to have run out of new lows to which Drew could stoop. But nope. In the November 10 episode (recapped here), Congressman Cutthroat delighted in telling cousin Ned that Tracy’s boxes of Quartermaine family heirlooms haven’t been lost, they’ve been moved to his house!
Wait, though, it gets worse. As Ned raged that he’d sue Drew for theft, Olivia’s better half collapsed. Drew’s response? He laughed that Ned was just faking a heart attack the way that Edward once had.
Is General Hospital Killing Off Ned?
Of course it seems highly unlikely that the show would really send Ned to the Quartermaine crypt. Since grandfather Edward’s passing, he’s become the de-facto patriarch of the cantankerous clan.

Wally Kurth joined the cast as Ned in 1991, fresh off his (first) stint as Justin on Days of Our Lives. At the time, the actor was replacing Kurt McKinney, who’d go on to play Vanessa’s true love Matt on Guiding Light. But Kurth certainly made the role his own.
Bonus points, by the way, for having done so opposite Jane Elliot, who plays Ned’s mom Tracy but on Days of Our Lives was Justin’s lover Anjelica!
These days, even as the daytime vet continues to recur on Days of Our Lives, he also lends his gravitas and dimples to General Hospital.
