Tuesday, July 7, 2026: Today on Days of Our Lives, Joy calls Alex with another emergency, Lexie goes after EJ and Cat undergoes hypnosis.

Cat drops by Marlena’s office to ask for a for-real hypnosis session. Luckily, Marlena’s free right then and there! (Who knew therapists were so easy to schedule?) Cat explains how Andrew told her Marlena was trustworthy. “What are you telling me? That you’re ISA?” Got it in one, Marlena!
Marlena confirms with Andrew via text, and gets down to business. Since Cat was awake in Italy, she’s optimistic they’ll get answers. Cat flashes back to the clinic, reading to a bandaged EJ, then talking to him. Clyde had so many victims, like the two of them. “That bonds us for life.” She holds his hand as she reads and feels him squeeze. So naturally, she kisses the unconscious man on the cheek.
What Does Joy Need Now?
Theo, Joy, Kelsey, Chanel and Trey all run into each other in the square — until Chanel makes it clear she wants nothing to do with Joy, and the redhead leaves. Theo suggests that Chanel can’t avoid Joy forever since she lives in Salem now. (She could in a normal town, but in Salem? Fair point.) Chanel doesn’t need fake friends or drama like Joy in her life right now.
Alex, meanwhile, fills Stephanie in on EJ’s latest plot against Titan. She’s not surprised, but she’s getting a little tired of the Kiriakis/DiMera feud. He’s trying his best to keep this from “spinning out.” And Stephanie’s going to help with PR magic! That’ll fix it all!
Then Joy calls from a windy park begging for help and ruins it all. (Actually, it’s not the park. It’s a grassy area on the side of the highway. With a brick wall behind her. And shrubs in front. Sure.) She got a flat and doesn’t know how to fix it. And doesn’t have AAA, we guess — which Stephanie suggests, too. “You can’t be her first call for everything!”
Stephanie and Chanel Hate Joy
Stephanie goes out for a walk and finds Chanel sitting in the park after getting hit with a wave of nausea. (Near what looks suspiciously like the same brick wall Joy was stuck at…) It doesn’t take long to get down to some good, old fashioned Joy bashing. They both want people to stop treating them like they’re fragile and just want to talk about anything other than their respective traumas!
And Chanel wants all the Joy gossip. She’s joyfully aghast at Joy’s “emergencies” and knows exactly what Steph’s talking about with Joy’s “damsel in distress bit.” She’s got stories of her own! “She’s a real operator, that one.” Stephanie better watch her back!
Can Lexie Be Saved?
EJ’s on the phone with Johnny, nursing his black eye with some raw steak when Lexie shows up and lets him have it. “You brought me back without my consent. Made me a human guinea pig,” and now he’s watching her suffer all over again. EJ’s hurt and indignant that she came to “rake him over the coals.”
She came to see Dr. Rolf, but she’s happy to take the time to make it clear how disgusted she is over using her to make a quick buck. She just lays into him until EJ screams, “I did this for family!” But he can barely form the words. He did it for everyone! EJ looks as wounded as he gets as Lexie tells him he gave her her life back just long enough to fall in love with it and lose it again.
He refuses to look in her eyes and admit he failed. That he messed up. That he didn’t stop and think what would happen if it didn’t work. “I will never forgive you,” Lexie snaps. And EJ, unusually subdued and genuinely seeming to want an answer, asks: “Aren’t you grateful for this second chance at life?”
In the Show’s Final Moments
Theo shows up as Lexie answers, tears in her eyes, and she has to cover and say she was getting emotional thanking Uncle EJ for everything. He can tell the vibes are off, but leaves it and goes upstairs to talk to Uncle Tony before he leaves. As Lexie tells EJ once he’s gone, Theo might lose his mom all over again. EJ tells her he won’t let her go and hugs her.
Joy and Alex get to the Pub after he changes her tire, where he signs her up for “roadside assistance” (We get it, you can’t say AAA). She promises she won’t keep calling him with emergencies of the non Kelsey kind. (Whether or not she listens, Robert Scott Wilson promises Alex isn’t as naive as Stephanie thinks!)
Marlena wakes Cat up, who tells her about the hand squeeze — but not the kiss. That’s a great start! Marlena’s motto is slow and steady, so they get to booking another session.
