Para empeorar las cosas, la jaula estaba ubicada justo en la orilla de un río, y su jaula a menudo fluía. Una vez que el agua subió tan alto, los osos casi se ahogaron.

Sin embargo, el equipo de rescate tuvo que atravesar las jaulas para liberarlos, ya que debieron haber quedado atrapados cuando el río se desbordó y en grave peligro de ahogarse”.
Durante años, International Animal Rescue (IAR) intentó salvar a estos dos osos. Finalmente, en noviembre de 2017, IAR y la Fundación para la Preservación de la Vida Silvestre y los Bienes Culturales (FPWC) consiguieron convencer a los propietarios de los restaurantes.
Liberar a los osos a su cuidado. El equipo de rescate de IAR atravesó los barrotes de la jaula de metal y liberó a los dos osos. Sedaron a los osos y los llevaron a su santuario en la montaña, un lugar donde finalmente tendrían la
liberarse tσ rσam y seguir sus instintos naturales. Después de llegar al santuario, Misha y Dasha entraron en una cueva para hibernar durante el invierno. Y cuando surgieron en la primavera de 2018, no estaban solos.
Dasha había dado a luz a dos cachorros felices y sanos. Dasha había pasado por mucho y ahora, finalmente tenía una familia propia. “Ella recibió toda la atención necesaria después de ser rescatada, suficientes frutas, verduras,
nueces y miel para ganar peso y grasa antes de la hibernación… pero nσσdy supuso que su buen apetito era resultado del embarazo”, dijo Vicky Mkrtchyan, coordinadora de proyectos ambientales de la FPWC, a The Dσdσ.
