FC Barcelona will now try to concentrate their energies on the current season after finishing their business on the transfer market. The Barcelona sporting division won’t have much time to rest, though, as they are already planning to extend the contracts of some of its players.
Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal’s contracts were Barcelona’s top priorities, but as was previously reported, the team and these players have already come to an arrangement, and their contracts will be renewed in the next few days.
De Jong has already received a renewal offer from Barcelona. The midfielder Frenkie de Jong is reportedly another player whose contract Barcelona is considering to extend, according to Diario AS. According to the report, the Catalan club has already made the Dutchman an offer to extend his contract further and increase his pay to reflect the club’s current financial situation.
With the club, Frenkie de Jong already has a contract that lasts until 2026. The midfielder’s current contract will be extended by an additional three years under the new deal that has been offered. The midfielder is not in a rush to talk to anyone. The story does go on to say, however, that Frenkie’s entourage is not in a rush to deal with Barcelona. They demand unequivocal assurances that Frenkie will be a crucial member of the Barcelona team in the future. This does not currently appear to be a concern for the team because the player already contributes significantly to Xavi’s team and appears certain to continue doing so in the future.
The tense relationship between Frenkie de Jong’s crew and the club is another issue. Although the player resisted Barcelona’s efforts to leave the club last summer and chose to stay, there hasn’t been an official reconciliation between the two clubs.
