WATCH: Rare video of Kevin de Bruyne admitting playing with Cristiano Ronaldo would increase his assist tally

Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne is considered to be one of the best midfielder in the Premier League. The 32-year-old midfielder has been sidelined for the greater part of this year following a hamstring injury. Subsequently, the player underwent surgery and is in recovery. Recently, a video of the player surfaced, in which he made an interesting submission.

When asked about who he would rather play with, Kevin picked Cristiano Ronaldo over a midfield of Xavi and Iniesta. In the video City player said:

I would like to play with Cristiano Ronaldo. I would definitely have more assists. With Cristiano I could cross the ball 3 metres too high and know he is still going to get it, he would help me a lot.

Moreover, he also praised Cristiano’s heading ability.

The player has set up over 286 assists. However, he is convinced that playing with CR7 would have increased this tally to a bigger number.

Fans of the player are thrilled after a video of the earlier interview has resurfaced on social media. Moreover, De Bruyne has offered a balanced response to the Messi-Ronaldo debate. However, he prefers to have Cristiano on his team.

Kevin de Bruyne linked with Saudi Club Al-Nassr

Manchester City captain and Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is currently nursing a hamstring injury. The Belgian has been at City for over 8 seasons, winning nearly every major trophy with the club. After being out for the majority of this season, Pep Guardiola and City are 2nd in the League. They are five points behind table-toppers Tottenham Hotspur.

Recently, there have been reports that Saudi club Al-Nassr have taken an interest in the player. The player has been notified of the interest as well. Moreover, the club have already signed big-name players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane from the Premier League. While De Bruyne has not expressed any signs of a departure, fans are in anticipation of a move.

The Belgian’s current contract with the Cityzens is set to expire in June 2025. The player will the 34 when his contract expires and there have been no signs that point toward an immediate contract extension. This calls for a genuine chance that the midfielder will leave the club in the coming window. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the same.
