Is General Hospital Hinting That Willow May Have a DID Twist Ahead? Willow may not remember shooting Drew.
General Hospital‘s Willow has been heading downhill for quite some time. It may turn out that she really did shoot Drew, but doesn’t remember it.
Willow But Not Willow
Any One Life to Live fan will remember the Vicki/Niki (Erika Slezak) storyline. Vicki had Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), which is characterized by the presence of at least two personality states or “alters”. Childhood trauma is thought to be the cause, as was the case on OLTL.
Now we have Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), who definitely suffered trauma by being raised in a cult. When she first arrived in Port Charles, she was sweet and innocent, and everyone loved her. She may have cheated on Chase (Josh Swickard), but that was glossed over. The heroine became a mom to Wiley (Viron Weaver), fell in love with Michael (Rory Gibson), and suffered bravely through a battle with cancer while pregnant.
She was wonderful until she wasn’t. Drew (Cameron Mathison) came along and manipulated her into cheating on her husband and making awful decisions regarding her children. Or did he? Is there another Willow taking over?
Willow May Have Pulled The Trigger
Drew ruined Willow’s life. It may have taken her too long, but she finally realized it. This realization, plus her culty past, may have broken her. Just like Vicki, Willow may have unknowingly created a new personality for herself, and that half of her shot Drew.
Drew’s new wife lied to the police regarding her whereabouts the night he was shot. She was seen driving near his house, which she omitted from her statement. When caught, she claimed that she never went inside.
Willow may not remember going into the house or shooting her husband because it may not have been Willow. Her alter could have done it, which is why she keeps claiming her innocence.
If GH is going in this direction, it would finally solve the “Who Shot Drew?” mystery, and it keeps Willow onscreen. She would not be sent to Pentonville; she would go to Ferncliff or one of the many other psychiatric hospitals in Port Charles. Her DID could become a storyline in itself, as it was for Vicki.
