The former UFC fighter may be in hot water over alleged unpaid debt
Khabib Nurmagomedov is facing a tough legal scenario after the Russian government reportedly seized his bank accounts over his alleged $3.3million debt.
The 35-year-old, who finished his career unbeaten with a 29-0 record, has endured a difficult time since ending his career, at least financially.

Not only has ‘The Eagle’ seen some of his businesses go under, his financial situation means the government have seized his personal bank accounts, according to Russian media outlet Mash.
It is alleged Nurmagomedov owes around 300 million Russian roubles, which equates to $3.3m, due to ‘inconsistencies’ over his tax details.
The Russian government have reportedly run out of patience and taken action against the UFC star by seizing all of his bank accounts, not just the ones associated with his businesses, while they continue their investigation into alleged tax evasion.
It is reported Russia’s own federal revenue service began looking into Nurmagomoedov‘s businesses in 2023 and found certain irregularities and that ended up triggering a full investigation into his financial statements.
Nurmagomedov’s camp have responded claiming the allegations of tax evasion are false: “The information about tax debt is inaccurate. Khabib continues to engage in business projects and develop them,” a statement read, as reported by the TASS news agency.

Khabib and Conor McGregor have been rivals ever since fighting each other in the UFC – and the Irishman did not pass up the opportunity to take a shot at the Dagestan fighter.

Nurmagomedov is considered one of the best fighters in the UFC and retired from the sport in 2020. Through his dominant performances inside the octagon, he became a superstar and a national treasure for Russia.
Khabib has now shifted his focus to building various businesses, as well as coaching Islam Makhachev, another talented Russian fighter. However, it remains to be seen whether he will be in his corner again this year, with Makhachev keen to fight in November.
