Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is one of the recipients of Best Actress award at the Cinemalaya 2024 for the film ‘Balota.’
Marian Riveraย won big as she was named as one of Best Actress awardees at the 20th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.
The awarding ceremony took place at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay on Sunday, August 11.
Balotaย tells the story of a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male ๐โฏ๐y actor who are locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town.
Emmy (Marian Rivera), a teacher who serves in the elections, runs into the wilderness to protect a ballot box, containing the last copy of the election results, when violence erupts in their town.
In one of her Facebook posts, the Kapuso Primetime Queen expressed her gratitude to everyone who showed their love and support for Balota.

Aside from Marian, Gabby Padilla was also hailed as Best Actress for the film,ย Kono Basho.
