GMA-7’s Prime Time Queen Marian Rivera is undeniably one of the country’s most beautiful actresses.
But did she ever consider going under the knife to enhance her beauty?
This question popped up during her press launch as the newest and only ambassador of the affordable skincare brand BlancPro on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.
With grace and confidence, Marian answered, “Wala naman! Thank You, Lord!”
She further reiterated, “Nothing! I kept thinking, nothing! I’m fine.”
From the moment she entered the world of showbiz, Marian emphasized that the thought of undergoing surgical enhancements never crossed her mind.
Instead, she fully embraced her natural beauty and chose not to pursue any alterations.
Reflecting on her showbiz journey, she recalled, “It never occurred to me that I would be an actress, right? I just wanted to be a commercial model. Just do commercials, magazines.
“Well, I was given a chance, I was lucky, maybe I was lucky. So, it just continued… from there, of course I embraced it.
“I said, ‘Oh, I love acting. So that’s where it started and it continued.”
MARIAN RIVERA ON INSTILLING SELF-LOVE IN HER CHILDREN
As a mom, Marian also holds the aspiration of instilling the value of self-love and self-acceptance in her 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.
As her daughter, Zia, grows up and navigates the complexities of dealing with insecurities, Marian’s approach serves as an inspiring guide.
Marian said, “Maybe I’m like his mom, maybe it’s better that I tell him that you need to love yourself.
“And the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 must also see that you accept him in any way.”
Marian recognizes that 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, particularly as they go through their learning phases and journey into adulthood, often grapple with moments of self-doubt.
She is acutely aware of the challenges they may encounter in a society that frequently places significant emphasis on external appearance.
Understanding the potential impact of these societal pressures, Marian believes in the crucial role parents play in creating a nurturing environment of love and acceptance.
By doing so, parents establish a solid foundation upon which their 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren can build confidence and develop self-assurance.
Marian explained, “Because a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 is a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥. [And even] there are really ugly factors. There are times when sometimes, ‘Hmm, it’s too much.’
“But that doesn’t mean we won’t accept them. Because as a parent, as a mother, I’m here for him. Not to correct him, if I don’t accept who he is.”
Marian said she, alongside her husband Dingdong Dantes, stands as a steadfast pillar of support for their 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, ensuring they feel valued and cherished.
She continued, “The mere fact that you accept the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 for who he is, he will have, he will have self-confidence.
“Maybe it’s gradual, gradual. Because he’s still young, so he sees different people.
“The important thing is the parents, both Dong and I, we are behind them no matter what. We are on their side and we love them.”
