Fans of The Chronicles of Narnia are eagerly awaiting the release of the much-anticipated The Silver Chair, a cinematic return to C.S. Lewis’s magical world set to arrive in theaters in 2026. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, known for his work on Kingsman and X-Men: First Class, The Silver Chair promises a visually stunning adaptation that deepens the lore of Narnia while introducing a new era for the franchise.
The Silver Chair will follow the story of Eustace Scrubb (Finn Wolfhard) and his schoolmate, Jill Pole (McKenna Grace), as they embark on a mission to rescue the lost Prince Rilian, son of King Caspian, who has vanished into the enchanted Northern Wilds of Narnia. With the guidance of the marshwiggle Puddleglum (voiced by Andy Serkis), they encounter the sinister Lady of the Green Kirtle, portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy, whose chilling performance is said to redefine villainy within the Narnia universe.
Set in a more mysterious corner of Narnia, The Silver Chair explores themes of courage, loyalty, and self-discovery. According to the producers, the story’s darker tone will appeal to both longtime Narnia fans and new viewers, with Vaughn stating, “This is a tale about the challenges of growth, both for Narnia and for our protagonists. We wanted to capture the essence of Lewis’s vision, while also modernizing it for today’s audiences.
