Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Pezzetta is supporting men’s health this November by growing a mustache. He hopes to raise $10,000 for the Movember movement, which raises awareness for men’s health and suicide prevention.

Penzetta shared his goal on social media, tweeting:

“It’s that time of year again. … I’m growing my mo to raise awareness for men’s health and suicide prevention. Please click the link below and donate to my page 🙏 There are many great prizes to be won for donating! Thank you 🙌 @MovemberCA”

Michael Pezzetta encouraged fans to donate to his Movember page and announced prizes for supporters.

Pezzetta has been a Movember participant for five years. Since 2019, he has raised $17,056, including $10,845 raised last year. His efforts earned him the “platinum club” recognition from Movember.

Michael Pezzetta has played in three of Montreal’s 12 games this season, mainly as an injury replacement for Juraj Slafkovsky. Known for his physical play, he has no points but has contributed hits and penalty minutes. Pezzetta might compete with Emil Heineman and Oliver Kapanen for a spot on the fourth line.

Michael Pezzetta and Co. fail to generate offense in Pittsburgh defeat

The Montreal Canadiens lost 3-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday at the PPG Paints Arena. Sidney Crosby led Pittsburgh with two goals, extending his scoring streak after a drought. Christian Dvorak scored Montreal’s only goal in the third period, cutting Pittsburgh’s lead to 2-1, but Montreal couldn’t find another goal to stay in the game.

Michael Pezzetta saw more ice time, playing 10:45 minutes, up from his usual eight minutes but didn’t contribute any goals or assists. Pezzetta’s physical play was present, but he and his line had limited chances against Pittsburgh’s strong defense.

Sam Montembeault made 21 saves in goal for Montreal, keeping the score close, especially in the second period. Yet, Montreal struggled offensively, generating fewer chances and failing to capitalize on the ones they had. Coach Martin St-Louis noted that the team played better defensively but still need more consistency to improve their results.

“You would’ve liked to get a result tonight because I feel the guys deserved something,” St-Louis said per NHL.com. “We just didn’t get that. It’s a hard League, but I feel like it‘s a really good sign and a step in the right direction. I feel like, now, it’s just to maintain that.”

The loss marks Montreal’s third in a row, outscoring 16-6 in those games.
