Tiger Woods to make long-awaited golf return with 15-year-old son Charlie after five months out

TIGER WOODS is set for a massive return to golf for the PNC Championship later this month.

Woods, 48, hasn’t played competitively since the Open Championship back in July.

The 15-time major champion underwent more back surgery in September – his sixth operation in 10 years.

But now the American star is set to return to action along with his 15-year-old son Charlie.

Woods said: “I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie.

“Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”

Team Woods will pair up for the 36-hole event at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.

That is after Woods underwent microdepression surgery of the lumbar spine for nerve impingement in the lower back.

The prestigious father-son tournament kicks off on December 19 and runs up until the 22nd.

Tiger and Charlie have paired up for the PNC Championship every year since 2020.

It is the fifth time they join forces, with Woods Sr and Jr enjoying their best finish in 2021 when they came second.

They will face fellow star combos, such as Padraig and Paddy Harrington, Nick and Matthew Faldo, Lee and Daniel Trevino as well as Annika Sorenstam and Will McGee.

Tiger played five tournaments in 2024, finishing 60th in the Masters and missing the cut in the other three majors.
