PlayStation Canada released a new commercial featuring William Nylander of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Sarah Nurse from the Toronto Sceptres. The ad, titled Play Has No Limits, highlights how play connects people.

In the video, Nylander uses a tennis ball-sized ball in blue with the PlayStation logo on it. He plays on the street with several 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren with hockey sticks in their hands. Many people from different backgrounds arrive on the spot with chairs to watch them play. It was a fun concept, with a message of unity.

PlayStation shared the video on X, saying:

“Play Has No Limits! Watch as @wmnylander and @nursey16 break from the mundane and show how play brings us all together.”

Sarah Nurse is a well-known player in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. Last season, she ranked second in points, with 23, scoring 11 goals and 12 assists. This season, she has six points, with three goals and three assists, placing her eighth in the league. Nurse has also represented Canada at the Winter Olympics in 2018 and 2022.

William Nylander, meanwhile, is one of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ top performers. He leads the team this season with 23 goals. Over his career, he has played 642 NHL games, recording 240 goals and 331 assists. Known for his smooth skating and playmaking, Nylander has been a reliable scorer since being drafted eighth overall in 2014.

William Nylander signed an eight-year, $92 million contract with a cap hit of $11.5 million per season. The deal confirms his importance to the Maple Leafs as they compete in the Atlantic Division.

Fans praised the commercial for its fun concept and the chemistry between the two hockey stars.

Maple Leafs beat the Islanders despite William Nylander’s silent night

The Toronto Maple Leafs won 2-1 against the New York Islanders at UBS Arena on Thursday. Star forward William Nylander had a quiet night with no points.

Bobby McMann scored first at 10:43 of the second period. He beat Islanders goalie Ilya Sorokin from the left face-off circle with help from Nicholas Robertson. The Islanders tied the game at 18:15, with Scott Mayfield scoring off a pass from Mathew Barzal.

McMann scored again to give the Leafs a 2-1 lead with 2:59 left. He put in a rebound on a power play after Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s shot had bounced off the end boards.

Joseph Woll made 32 saves in the win. The Leafs have won three of their last four games. The victory completed a home-and-home sweep over the Islanders, with William Nylander providing two helpers in the 3-1 win on Dec. 31.
