Liverpool are reportedly preparing to offload three key players to secure the signing of Newcastle United’s star striker, Alexander Isak. Manager Arne Slot has identified the Swedish forward as a top target to strengthen the Reds’ attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
According to reports, Liverpool are willing to sell Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota to finance the high-profile transfer. The club is looking to restructure its attack after suffering major setbacks in both the Champions League and the English League Cup.
Speaking about the decision, Slot stated: “We have to make tough choices to improve the squad. Isak is a fantastic player, and we believe he would bring a lot of quality to our attack.”
Liverpool have already begun negotiations with Newcastle, but the Magpies are reluctant to let Isak go unless they receive an offer in the region of £150 million. The Swedish international has been in impressive form, making him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe.
With Nunez linked to clubs in Saudi Arabia and Diaz reportedly close to joining Barcelona, Liverpool could generate significant funds to make their move for Isak. Meanwhile, Jota is valued at around £55 million, and his future at Anfield remains uncertain.
As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Liverpool to see if they can successfully reshape their attack with Isak as the focal point of their new era under Slot.
