The British star, 85, admitted he was open to reprising the role of Gandalf — “If I’m alive,” he quipped — in an interview with The Times of London published Friday, June 7.

Following his hit trilogy of films adapting J.R.R. Tolkein’s The Lord of the Rings books, in which McKellen played the wise wizard Gandalf, filmmaker Peter Jackson is teaming up with Andy Serkis for The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, scheduled for a 2026 release.

McKellen told The Times that he’s heard of the “stirrings in Tolkien land,” including the feature-length Gollum and another Middle-earth movie from Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema. Other recent adaptations of the beloved fantasy author’s work include the Amazon Prime Video drama The Rings of Power (season 2 premieres Aug. 29) and the anime-style feature film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim in theaters Dec. 13.

“But there is no script, there is no offer, there is no plan,” added McKellen. The X-Men star broke out as Gandalf in 2001’s The Fellowship of the Ring, earning an Oscar nomination, and reprised the role in Jackson’s follow-up trilogy adapting Tolkein’s The Hobbit.

In a statement about The Hunt for Gollum, Jackson, Walsh and Boyens said, “It is an honor and a privilege to travel back to Middle-earth with our good friend and collaborator, Andy Serkis, who has unfinished business with that Stinker — Gollum!”

McKellen is currently on London’s West End playing Falstaff in a new version of William Shakespeare’s Henry IV, called Player Kings. Of potentially playing the bearded Gandalf again, the knighted actor noted to The Times that he hasn’t “shaved in months.”

Footage Released Of MO3 Murder, Shooter Will Testify Against Yella Beezy!

In a shocking turn of events, footage has been released capturing the moments leading up to and following the murder of rapper MO3 on a Texas highway. Although the video does not show the act itself, it provides critical insight into the chaotic scene. The footage reveals MO3 exiting his vehicle, a Honda, while the shooter, who was driving a Corvette, appears to retrieve a firearm from his car before opening fire. Witnesses have noted that the panic of the moment likely played a significant role in the rapper’s response, as he struggled to react swiftly in the face of imminent danger. The incident, which occurred on November 11, 2020, has been linked to an ongoing feud between MO3 and fellow rapper Yella Beezy. Recent court proceedings have escalated the situation further, as it has been reported that the shooter, identified as Kiwan White, is expected to testify against Yella Beezy. Prosecutors revealed that White withdrew $40,000 in cash days after MO3’s murder, a transaction that investigators believe corresponds to payment for the crime. As the case unfolds, details are emerging about the pressures faced by the accused. According to reports, investigators presented White with a stark choice: cooperate with the authorities to secure a more lenient sentence or face a lengthy prison term. This tactic appears to have prompted White to turn against Yella Beezy, implicating him in the events leading to MO3’s death. In the wake of these developments, Yella Beezy’s bail has been reduced from $2 million to $750,000, allowing him the possibility of fighting the charges from outside of jail. The complexities of this case underscore the ongoing tensions within the hip-hop community and highlight the tragic consequences of violence. As more information becomes available, the public awaits further updates on this evolving story.
