Horror fans, rejoice — the wait is over. Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have just dropped the highly anticipated first trailer for The Conjuring 4: Last Rites, giving audiences their chilling first look at the latest chapter in the legendary Conjuring Universe. The 4K teaser, which runs just under two minutes, immediately plunges viewers into a dark, foreboding atmosphere. Opening with haunting Gregorian chants echoing through a decaying cathedral, the trailer quickly sets the tone for what promises to be the darkest and most emotionally charged entry in the series yet.

“This is not just another case,” Ed Warren (Patrick Wilson) warns in a grave voiceover. “This is a final reckoning.”

The trailer shows flashes of the Warrens battling a malevolent force inside a centuries-old monastery in rural France, a location reportedly inspired by one of the Warrens’ most disturbing real-life cases. Lorraine (Vera Farmiga), her face pale and terror-stricken, is seen performing a last rite ceremony as unseen forces threaten to tear reality apart.

“Whatever is haunting this place,” Lorraine whispers, “it’s older than anything we’ve ever faced.”

Director Michael Chaves, returning after The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, appears to have crafted a more psychological and spiritual horror experience this time around. The teaser hints at powerful themes of faith, sacrifice, and confronting the darkness within.

Adding to the excitement, The Conjuring 4: Last Rites introduces several new cast members, including Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts in a mysterious role connected to the monastery’s bloody past.

According to Warner Bros., Last Rites will serve as a culmination of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s cinematic journey, tying together story threads that have been building since the original 2013 film.

Fans flooded social media immediately after the trailer dropped, praising its chilling visuals, emotionally charged performances, and the palpable sense of finality surrounding the Warrens’ story.

The Conjuring 4: Last Rites is slated to hit theaters worldwide on October 17, 2025, just in time for Halloween season.

Prepare yourself for one last encounter with the unknown — because this time, the evil isn’t just seeking revenge. It wants a soul.
