Thor 5: Battle of the Gods – New Trailer (2025) | Chris Hemsworth & Russell Crowe Return for a Divine Showdown

The cosmos tremble once more. Marvel Studios has just released the official trailer for Thor 5: Battle of the Gods (2025), teasing an epic celestial war that will shake the Nine Realms and redefine the future of the MCU’s cosmic landscape. Chris Hemsworth returns as the thunder-wielding Avenger, and this time, Russell Crowe’s Zeus isn’t just watching from Olympus — he’s bringing the wrath of the old gods.

Set after the events of Thor: Love and Thunder and Avengers: Secret Wars, the trailer reveals that the fragile peace between the realms is shattered when an ancient pantheon awakens: the Primordial Gods, forgotten deities who predate both Asgard and Olympus, and seek to reclaim dominion over existence itself.

The trailer opens with a sweeping shot of a burning celestial temple as Thor narrates: “We thought the war of the gods ended. It was only the beginning.”

Quick flashes reveal a ravaged New Asgard, lightning clashes in the skies over Mount Olympus, and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) leading a last stand with her elite warriors. Meanwhile, Zeus (Crowe) summons a divine army to confront the coming storm.

The biggest surprise? A mysterious hooded villain, revealed in the final seconds of the trailer to be Kronos, the god of time and father of the Olympians, played by Ciarán Hinds. His chilling words echo through the screen: “You were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 of storms. I was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 before them.”

Directed by Taika Waititi, the film is said to blend mythological grandeur with emotional weight, as Thor is forced to question not just his power — but his legacy as a god.

Also confirmed in the trailer are appearances by Love, Thor’s adopted daughter (played by India Hemsworth), now wielding a mystical weapon of her own, and Loki (Tom Hiddleston), in what appears to be a time-warped version of the trickster god.

Marvel teases that Thor 5 will serve as the climax of Thor’s character arc, and possibly set the stage for the next divine protector of the MCU.

⚡ Thor 5: Battle of the Gods strikes theaters worldwide on November 7, 2025, in IMAX and Dolby Cinema formats.
