Liverpool prepare £100m move for Anthony Gordon as summer spending spree nears £300m

🏆 Premier League champions Liverpool are set to continue their blockbuster transfer window with a stunning £100 million bid for Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, according to multiple reports in England.

Talks over Gordon’s potential switch to Anfield were held last summer but stalled. However, with Newcastle now open to selling, Liverpool are ready to strike.

🚨 The 24-year-old boyhood Liverpool fan joined Newcastle from Everton in January 2024 for £45m and extended his contract just months later. He enjoyed a solid Premier League season, registering 6 goals and 5 assists.

But with Arne Slot now at the helm and aiming to build on their title-winning momentum, the Reds are reportedly planning to go all in this summer.

💰 Liverpool have already sealed a £29.5m move for Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and are close to finalizing a British record £116m transfer for Florian Wirtz, also from Leverkusen. Left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth is also expected to arrive for around £40m.

👉 If they succeed in landing Gordon, Liverpool’s total summer spending could soar past £300 million — a massive statement of intent.

Meanwhile, The Sun recently reported that Liverpool are still tracking Bradley Barcola from PSG, but the Champions League winners are reluctant to sell the French starlet. That opens the door for Gordon to become the ideal attacking solution for the Merseysiders.

💬 With uncertainty surrounding the futures of Luis Díaz and Darwin Nunez — both being monitored by clubs like Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and several Saudi teams — Gordon could be a key figure in Liverpool’s revamped front line.

Liverpool had also shown interest in Alexander Isak, Gordon’s Newcastle teammate, but were priced out at £150m.

📰 Should the deal go through, Newcastle might turn to Jack Grealish, who is out of favor at Manchester City, as a potential loan replacement.

The Reds look determined to reshape their squad — and Anthony Gordon may soon be lighting up Anfield in red instead of black and white.
