The mask returns… with a new scream queen.
Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures have just released the teaser trailer for Halloween (2025), a bold new reboot of the iconic slasher franchise—this time with rising horror star Jenna Ortega taking center stage. Known for her breakout performances in Wednesday and Scream, Ortega plays Lena Myers, a distant relative of Laurie Strode, caught in a deadly web spun by none other than Michael Myers himself.
Directed by David Robert Mitchell (It Follows), this new chapter is not a sequel but a psychological reimagining that delves deeper into Haddonfield’s cursed legacy. The teaser offers brief but intense glimpses: flickering lights in a hospital hallway, Lena running barefoot through suburban fog, and the unmistakable sound of Michael’s heavy breathing behind the iconic white mask.
Jenna Ortega’s chilling line from the teaser: “The mask doesn’t haunt this town… it owns it.”
The film is set 45 years after the original massacre, with Michael Myers having vanished—but whispers of his return begin after a copycat 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ing eerily mirrors the 1978 events. As Lena uncovers dark family secrets, she must decide whether to flee, fight, or become part of the nightmare herself.
Halloween (2025) also stars Patrick Wilson, Neve Campbell, and Doug Jones as a hauntingly silent version of Michael Myers.
The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 17, 2025, just in time for Halloween.
