Jordan Spieth has become a father of three just days before The Open Championship begins, after announcing that his wife Annie had given 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to Sully Spieth on Sunday

PGA Tour star Jordan Spieth has announced the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of his third 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, just days before preparations for The Open Championship get underway.

On Sunday, Spieth announced that his wife Annie had successfully delivered Sully Spieth in an adorable Instagram post. Spieth hasn’t played a round of competitive golf since withdrawing from the Travelers Championship and was waiting for his wife to give 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡.

Spieth’s withdrawal was due to injury, but he extended his break until his third 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 arrived. Spieth confirmed that he would return for The Open Championship and now had no restrictions for the remainder of the year.

On Sunday, Spieth posted a photo of his new𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 son with his family overlooking him. “We added a new member to the foursome – Sully Spieth! Everyone is doing great,” Spieth wrote.

Jordan and Annie now share three 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, Sammy, Sophie, and Sunny, each 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 roughly two years apart. Spieth will spend a few days with his newly extended family before traveling to Northern Ireland for The Open.

After finishing tied-23rd at the U.S. Open, Spieth was forced to withdraw from the Travelers Championship during the first round. After suffering a neck injury, Spieth also missed the Rocket Classic and the John Deere Classic.

Spieth opted to skip the Genesis Scottish Open with his wife due to give 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡. While this restricted Spieth from building course momentum, he will be in contention at The Open Championship.

“I have a good team here, I knew it was short-lived,” Spieth said of his injury on the ‘Up & Adams Show’ with Kay Adams. “I’ve been back to full strength, getting ready for The Open Championship next week, our last major of the year.

“Then, we have our playoffs. A lot of big events left, and I have no restrictions, which is great. I will be a little bit of a late arrival, but I will be there.

“Luckily, I have played The Open at this course in Northern Ireland six years ago, so I won’t feel like I have to learn a new place. I am just trying to get all the work in before 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 comes, then I will head overseas.”

Although the family time off has benefited Spieth personally, he was extremely frustrated after his Travelers Championship ended prematurely. TPC River Highlands is one of Spieth’s favored courses, and he felt confident about making a deep run.

“Yeah, it’s incredibly frustrating because this was 10 out of 12 [events] for me, and I was looking at this being the strongest one,” Spieth said after withdrawing. “I was very confident about that.

“Everything I had done in practice and the pro-am showed me it’s going to be a really good event. It’s just a very weird circumstance. It’s disappointing. We’re having a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 here in a couple of weeks.

“So I’ll have some time off now, obviously, to get healthy, but hopefully, after a few days, I can go through the right process to just get right back to where I was. Yeah, it’s a bummer. It’s a bummer at this event, obviously.”
