The backwoods terror is back—and this time, it’s personal.

Lionsgate has dropped the first trailer for Wrong Turn (2025), a brutal new entry in the long-running horror saga. Titled simply Wrong Turn, the film reboots the franchise while subtly continuing the legacy of inbred horror that’s haunted audiences for over two decades.

This 2025 version follows a group of young environmental researchers who venture deep into the Appalachian wilderness to map a protected zone—only to uncover a blood-soaked history buried beneath the soil. What begins as a scientific expedition quickly descends into a savage nightmare as the group is stalked by a new generation of cannibalistic hunters, descendants of the original hillbilly clan.

Directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City), this installment promises a grittier, more psychological horror tone, while still delivering the gruesome 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s fans expect.

The trailer teases underground lairs, bone-filled traps, and a horrifying twist involving one of the characters being tied to the original family bloodline. A chilling voiceover declares: “This land doesn’t forget… and neither do its 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.”
