A new video of Donald Trump playing golf seems to reveal the President engaged in questionable behavior with his caddie.
While accusations of the 79-year-old cheating aren’t unprecedented – there’s even a book written about it – he may struggle to defend himself against this latest, incriminating footage. During the President’s brief visit to Scotland at Turnberry, a video has emerged showing him in action.
The footage captures Trump arriving in his cart – not the armored vehicle seen previously – and pulling up to a bunker, with two caddies positioned ahead. The second caddie then clearly places a ball in the light rough, just before the sand trap.
Trump then exits his cart and walks toward the ball. The footage cuts off before Trump makes his shot, but social media users have already made up their minds.
“Watch it carefully, the caddie drops the ball for him. Trump has to cheat at his own course,” one commented.
“This is how you win 30 club championships,” another user posted. A different response stated: “Undeniable proof that Trump cheats at golf.”

Trump also faced criticism for sinking a putt and having his caddie retrieve the ball from the cup. This marks the second time Trump’s golfing has generated controversy.
A book titled ‘Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump,’ was released by Rick Reilly in 2019 during his initial presidency. It offered a scathing assessment of Trump’s golfing conduct.
“To say ‘Donald Trump cheats’ is like saying ‘Michael Phelps swims,'” Reilly wrote. “He cheats at the highest level. He cheats when people are watching, and he cheats when they aren’t.

“He cheats whether you like it or not. He cheats because that’s how he plays golf… if you’re playing golf with him, he’s going to cheat.”
Trump maintains his official handicap stands at 2.8, but Reilly delivered a blunt retort to that claim, suggesting if that were accurate then the late Queen Elizabeth was a “pole vaulter.”
Putting his on-course behavior to one side, Trump declared his venue “is the best resort in the world and it’s one of the greatest courses in the world,” after arriving in Scotland.
Yet, despite its global reputation, it hasn’t staged an Open Championship since 2009. R&A boss Mark Darbon recently met with Eric Trump to discuss this issue.
“They understand clearly where we’re coming from. We talked through some of the challenges that we have, so we have a good dialogue with them,” Darbon said, before stating decisively, “The decision around where we take our championship rests with us.”
