Elizabeth Hendrickson’s directorial debut at Y&R took a lot of work.

Elizabeth Hendrickson has a new role at The Young and the Restless. The actress is taking a break from playing Chloe to pursue her new passion: directing. Hendrickson’s directorial debut for the show aired this week, and she’s giving credit where it’s due.

Daytime Warriors

Hendrickson’s first episode as director aired on August 5th, and it was a powerhouse. The episode featured Billy (Jason Thompson) learning that Jill (Jess Walton) knew Cane (Billy Flynn) was Dumas. Then Kyle (Michael Mealor) comforts Claire (Hayley Erin) after she stood up to Victor (Eric Braeden).

It was an emotional episode, and Hendrickson is receiving praise for her directorial debut. On an Instagram story, the actress reflected on her first directorial episode and praised her co-stars for their work.

Hendrickson posted a clip of Thompson, Flynn, and Michelle Stafford’s scenes, writing: “I really have the actors to thank. They made me look good today. My favorite part of my new role at Y&R is watching the actors soar.”

Hendrickson went on to explain that the three actors had 35 pages of dialogue. After a 7 a.m. rehearsal, the trio taped back-to-back shows before finishing at 11:30 a.m. “Daytime actors are freaking warriors! They/We don’t get the respect we deserve. I love my job. I love this show,” the star wrote.

Hendrickson’s Next Move

Although her directorial debut was a success, Hendrickson revealed it isn’t easy. “I’m also really proud of myself. I remember when I almost gave up. The technical learning curve was really challenging for me. Still is, but I keep pushing/learning. Don’t listen to the noise. Don’t give up! This is a reminder to do something that scares you. That excites you. That makes you want to get up and work you a** off.”

Her hard work paid off with a successful debut as Y&R director. And there will be plenty more directing in Hendrickson’s future.
