Sean Dominic’s character, Nate, has been front and center on The Young and the Restless. Nate’s life was thrown for a loop with Amy’s return and her bombshell revelation. Dominic has been putting in tremendous work, and he owes it all to Pettiford.

Honor To Work With

Pettiford made her debut as Amy in October 2024. The character returned to meet with Nate and reveal two shocking secrets. The first was that Nate had a half-brother, Damian (Jermaine Rivers, who is out at Y&R). The second was that Amy had cancer.

Nate became a friend to Amy as he helped track down Damian and reunite mother and son. He also used his medical connections to get Amy treatment from one of Chicago’s best oncologists.

Y&R fans like Nate and Amy’s friendship and their scenes. But nobody is enjoying Nate and Amy’s story more than Dominic. On Instagram, the actor praised his onscreen partner Pettiford.

The actor posted a photo of himself and Pettiford from Y&R’s recent fan event. In the caption, he wrote, “Just wanna give this young lady her flowers @valariepettiford. It’s an honor and pleasure to work with you! I couldn’t have asked for a better mother to my half-brother. lol. Thank you for bringing power, and elegance and intelligence to the screen as Amy. All I do is sit back and take notes. Congratulations on your daytime Emmy’s nomination because I got a feeling…🤫😬.”

Dominic and Pettiford have had some emotional scenes lately with Damian’s death. Nate was the one who broke the sad news to Amy, who was overcome with grief.

The two will be leaning on each other as they face their loss. Although Amy’s future without Damian is unclear, she can count on Nate to be there for her. Amy will also be there for Nate as he faces the aftermath of his girlfriend Audra’s (Zuleyka Silver) betrayal.
