Liverpool: Szoboszlai (83′)

After winning both of their first two matches, Liverpool and Arsenal faced each other at Anfield in round 3 with great caution. For most of the match, there were not many truly dangerous chances created. Both Arsenal and Liverpool maintained maximum concentration on defense and did not take too many risks in attacking.

The biggest highlight of the first half was probably the injury of Arsenal’s mainstay centre-back William Saliba. He left the field to make way for new signing Mosquera in the 5th minute.

In the remaining minutes of the first half, Arsenal focused on set pieces but could not make a difference. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s attack also had a rather lackluster day.

In the second half, the situation did not change much. It was still an extremely tight match. Apart from a few situations where the ball bounced around in front of the two teams’ goals, there were not many coordinated moves to make a difference.
