F1 LEGEND ATTACKED! Four-time world champion Alain Prost was reportedly injured after fighting off masked robbers during a HORRIFIC raid on his family home

ALAIN PROST was reportedly injured after confronting masked robbers during a terrifying raid at his home in Switzerland.

The four-time Formula One world champion, 71, is said to have suffered a head injury during the ordeal at his property in Nyon near Lake Geneva on Tuesday morning.

According to reports from Swiss outlet RMC, several masked intruders burst into the house at around 8.30am in an attempted burglary.

Prost allegedly came face-to-face with the raiders and was involved in a physical struggle as chaos unfolded inside the family home.

The gang are also reported to have threatened members of Prost’s family before forcing one of his sons to open a safe.

The exact amount stolen has not been revealed.

Swiss police have launched a major investigation in a bid to track down the suspects.

French authorities have also reportedly been alerted amid fears the gang may have attempted to flee across the border.

Despite the frightening incident, Prost’s injuries are believed to be minor.

A psychological support unit was reportedly set up at the scene following the attack.
