Billy’s Crashout Proved He Couldn’t Handle the Job on Young and the Restless

Billy was too hellbent on getting revenge on Victor, which proved Cane’s point.

Cane dangled an intriguing offer in front of Billy’s nose, and not only did he grab it, but he ran wild with it. This caused Cane to pull the plug on his plans to allow Billy to use his A.I. software. Billy proved that he couldn’t handle the job on The Young and the Restless.

Cane Pulls The Plug

In just a matter of a week, Billy (Jason Thompson) lost out on a lucrative deal. Cane (Billy Flynn) offered him the opportunity to use his A.I. software to take over all the companies in Genoa City. Of course, Billy had Chancellor and Victor (Eric Braeden) on his mind.

He was mostly focused on taking down Victor for the umpteenth time. But that opportunity came and went as quickly as Billy’s latest crashout. Everyone found out about Cane’s A.I. software. So much for keeping that secret to himself.

And now, Billy broke ties with two important people in his life. He lost Jack’s (Peter Bergman) financial support. He also lost the support of his girlfriend, Sally (Courtney Hope), who thought they were going to work on their own incredible business.

Billy wanted to go all in, so he allowed his impulsiveness to call the shots. Cane could see Billy’s recklessness from a mile away, and now he had pulled the plug on the A.I. plan—at least with Billy, anyway.

Too Much Of A Liability

Billy was already melting down over Cane’s idea. He was desperately waiting for a call back, so they could start working on this as soon as possible. Then, Billy would finally have the power to take down Victor Newman.

Billy got a call, but not the kind he expected. Cane realized that his family is more important than success. His conversation with Lily (Christel Khalil) led him to drop his A.I. software plan.

Cane realized that Billy is too much of a wildcard. He could end up being a liability to his image and brand. He needs a group of well-rounded people who fall off to the wayside and do whatever they want.

Billy proved Cane’s point. And he’s going to spiral further, now that he’s lost everything. Not only did he lose Cane’s business deal, but he also lost Jack and Sally. (Could Billy’s stupidity bring Jack and Sally back together on Y&R?)
