CHRISTIAN HORNER is taking pop star wife Geri Halliwell on a romantic honeymoon.
Horner, 51, was sacked by Red Bull in July as team principal after a run of woeful results.
It came a year after the ‘𝓈ℯ𝓍ting scandal’ that engulfed him over texts he apparently sent to a female employee.
Outspoken Horner was the longest-reigning Formula One boss after becoming head honcho of the Austrian team during its inception in 2005.
It was revealed this week that the former racing driver has been handed a whopping £80million payout to leave Red Bull.
That incredible deal will also allow Horner to return to F1 as early as next year.
The motorsport executive was initially in line for a staggering £110m settlement for his contract which ran until 2030.
But that deal would have severely delayed a return to the F1 paddock which he is understood to be keen on doing.
Now Horner is looking to put his mammoth severance pay to good use and make the most from his break from F1.
According to The Mail, the experienced team principal will take his wife Geri, 53, on a romantic trip that was long overdue.
The couple have been married for 10 years but have been postponing their honeymoon.
It’s reported they are set to jet off to Scotland for a long-desired road trip.
It will be Geri’s first visit to the Isle of Skye.
Horner has an incredible car collection which he could put to use if they hit the Highland roads.
SunSport revealed that in 2023 he was eyeing up a £1.7m Lamborghini.
Horner and Geri tied the knot in Woburn, Bedfordshire in a ceremony attended by a number of celebrities.
That included motor racing stars Sir Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda as well as Ginger Spice’s fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton and comedians Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.
The couple share three 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, Bluebell Madonna from Geri’s previous relationship, Olivia from Horner’s first marriage and a son Montague.
