A wedge cut is large retro-style short layered hairstyle that is ideal for ladies with thick and straight hair. The style became popular during the 70’s. Olympic Dorothy Hamill really made the look famous. While short wedge hairstyles aren’t for everyone women of all ages will enjoy these styles. There are a lot of layers that are gradual of stacking, short A-line or asymmetrical designs such as choppy cuts, blunt or wispy hair, or tapered backs. Beautiful for Over 50
Great for Curly Hair

What do you think of this style?
This is curly wedge. I use more intense highlights than I do on straight hair as curly hair tends to naturally blend colors. The bright color and an angled haircut adds volume by drawing attention to the individual hair tendrils. Being shorter in the back and longer at the front creates massive volume and motion through the back. It also keeps a “safe” the length of her facial. Also, it draws her face upwards to create a flattering shape.
Do you have any suggestions for someone who is thinking about the idea?
This cut is ideal for those who want to enhance their natural curls by showcasing a chic cut while keeping their routine simple and elegant. This haircut is suitable for curly or wavy type of hair, as hair that is thick it can become too dense. I recommend this cut for all facial shapes. If you have a round face make sure the length of the front is greater than that of the jawline, which draws the eyes up and down. For larger face forms, the jawline will be the perfect length. The best method to create the look would be to apply the lightest curling product (I like sweetheart curls by L’Oreal) and then diffuse it using a blow-dryer. To repair individual curls that have become agitated make sure you wrap a few pieces of hair around the rod iron to form a 3/4 inch. This process should be completed in about 20 minutes, making it perfect for anyone who is traveling. Maintenance happens every 6 weeks or more.

What do you think of this style?
Mixing the bowl with the bob cut. I added volume by texturing the side of her head. The color I was inspired by was beginning with Redken bleach, and finishing using Shades EQ gloss 09v / Shades EQ gloss 09v / 09t/09p/09b clear in equal parts. Then, after the gloss was applied I applied the fusio dose treatment for protein through Kerastase (concentrate the vita cement and boost shine) followed by drying with Uemura Shu straight forward blow dry spray. I then hairstyled using Shu Uemura Uzu Cotton for texture as well as volume and shape.
Do you have any suggestions for someone who is thinking about this?
I designed this wedge hairstyle that is suitable for all hair kinds. It is specifically designed for medium to fine hair thickness, and straight hair to Wavy. To maintain your hair at home it is recommended to use an amino-rich shampoo and conditioner as well as an Extreme Redken treatment to repair and repair damaged hair. You can also mix the two products using Blue shampoo as well as conditioner (Redken Blondage) for keeping your hair healthy and vibrant. For maintenance in the salon, you’ll have to go in every 3 weeks for another gloss to maintain your hair color. You can also get a haircut within 4-5 weeks in order to keep the shape you want.

This cut is ideal to those who have a long face or a narrower one since it opens your eyes to the forefront to concentrate on your beautiful facial features. This cut can be styled however you want or keep it natural by applying an leave-in cream (I love Matrix Boho AirDry Cream) or add some salt spray inside and blow it dry using your fingers. Or, you can dry it with a round-shaped brush , and some blow-dry cream (I utilized Matrix Skinny BlowDry Cream). When you’ve finished the cut but be ready to desire it to be cut for a long time! It’s effortless and elegant.
The Classic Wedge Haircut

What would you say about this style?
The wedge haircut, also known as a short stacked hairstyle is classic that has a modern twist. It’s a perfect balance of precise lines and texture. The appropriate amount of texture to make it look more contemporary. The precise stacking on the back creates the traditional stacked bob style that will never go out of fashion. The thing I like the most about this style is the way it keeps its shape while simultaneously hair bounces and bounces in a natural way. I also like the soft, wispy lines that frame the face.
Anyone have any advice for those who are considering the idea?
I’d recommend wedge cuts similar to this for anyone who is looking for a classic cut with a bit of edge. The cut is simple to maintain and style on a regular basis, but must be cut and reshaped once every 4-6 weeks. Therefore, anyone who wears this cut should be ready to attend regular appointments to cut their hair. This cut is fantastic with natural grey or highlights hair, as in the image.
Chic Disconnected Cut
Q&A with the style designer Marina Fichera

What would you say about this style?
It’s a bit like a cross between a pixie or a hairstyle with a texture. I style most pixie hairstyles with the same method trimming the side and back prior to making a decision on where to cut the top portion. In this particular style, I used a horseshoe shape and cut the sides and back quite short. I then left the rest of the hair longer. I cut in a circular. It’s a bit edgy, but it’s still extremely soft. It’s my absolute preferred haircut. It lets you take more freedom of expression while keeping the style more conventional.
Anyone have any advice for those who are considering this?
The look is quite universal. It is possible to achieve similar short wedge haircuts , but without the huge disconnect that this haircut offers. I’d suggest that in general, this cut could be considered an easy wash and go style however it is usually best with some styling, if not complete blow drying. This all depends on the hair texture. The benefit of having smaller hair length is that it will settle and will take a lesser period of time dry. For this particular style that finer or average-looking hair that has a slight texture is the best but it shouldn’t deter anyone from trying it! I’m also a big fan of products that create texture once hair is dry for haircuts such as this. In her case, I am a huge fan of dry lift products from AG Hair! It doesn’t leave hair shiny but can be used in a way to repel oil as it’s mostly dry shampoo that comes in a form of paste. If you’re looking to loosen up your hairstyle slightly I’m in love the texture spray created by Oligo.

What would you say about this style?
This style is a classic and versatile hairstyle with a modern design that has a rich texture and color. I love the depth you get in the base formula dark chocolate mocha that is created using Matrix ColorSync and how it melts right into the ends of the raspberry!
Do you have any suggestions for someone who is thinking about this?
Things to consider the first thing to consider is maintenance! Shades that are trendy tend to fade quicker, so washing in cool, cool water or applying high-end shampoos and conditioners like Biolage Color Care is a must! A minimum of 3 times every week will prolong the life of your hair by using a dry shampoo between. I wouldn’t suggest this style for those who has extremely thick or coarse hair because it might be prone to creating an angular form over the eyes. Favorite finishing product for you: Matrix Height Riser! Height Riser provides the ideal amount of body and texture.

What do you think of this style?
It is an afro with many layers and texture. The greatest thing about this style is how adaptable it can be. It is able to be easily changed from a fun and flirty style (like in the photo) to a more sophisticated and sophisticated style by hair slicing back behind the ears.
