Michael Jordan was a lousy player before joining the Chicago Bulls S-News

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen fought together in the NBA for 10 seasons. Both are extremely talented players but also possess very strong personalities.

On a podcast called “Gimme the Hot Sauce,” when asked by the host where LeBron James ranks among the league’s greatest legends, Pippen had a rather surprising answer. He shared:

“There is no greatest player. Basketball is a team sport. I saw Michael Jordan play before going to the Bulls. He was a lousy player and a lousy teammate. He just practiced. focused on the 1v1s, and the pitch was terrible, then all of a sudden we were a winning team and everyone forgot about his past.

The six-time NBA champion also shared that he would place himself in the group of the best legends in the league and “LeBron James is the greatest player in basketball history in terms of statistics.”

Pippen has many times openly expressed his displeasure about the great aura Jordan has achieved in his career.

When did Scottie Pippen join the Chicago Bulls?

Pippen joined the Bulls in 1987 as the 5th pick in the NBA Draft. He then played 12 seasons for the city’s team nicknamed “Windy City”, including the 1993/1994 season when Jordan temporarily retired to switch to rugby.

Pippen averaged 22 points, 8.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game to take the Bulls to a respectable 55-27 that season. At the playoffs, the Bulls lost 3-4 to the Knicks in the domain semi-finals.

Watching this makes me really sad. Scottie brought so much joy to so many people. The fact that it all left him with such bitterness is a terrible shame.
