Less than three months after putting their $18 million Manhattan condominiums up for sale, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were able to find a buyer.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen found a buyer for a pair of $18 million Manhattan apartments less than three months after listing them for sale
According to the listing with Douglas Elliman’s Noble Black, Jennifer Stillman, David Son, and Cory Cahlon, the two apartments might be united into a penthouse with more than 3,300 square feet of the own outdoor rooftop terrace. The building is located at the Brewster Carriage House on Broome Street in Nolita. The agent’s representative declined to respond to questions for this article.
The total area of the units exceeds 6,000 square feet
The flats were listed in January and were under contract last week, according to The Wall Street Journal. Because the sale documents have not yet been made public, Mansion Global was unable to identify the purchasers, who were represented by Kane Manera of The Corcoran Group. He denied knowing who they were.
The couple had planned to merge the two apartments but never did so
Public records show that Mr. Legend, 43, and Ms. Teigen, 36, paid $9.02 million for the first unit in 2018 and $7.7 million for the second in 2020. The musician and his wife, a model and cookbook author, first planned to construct a larger home but soon realized they spent more time on the West Coast.

Mr. Legend told The Wall Street Journal that he and Ms. Teigen plan to purchase another home in the city that does not require construction. “We’ve realized that due to work and other factors, we’ll be in Los Angeles the majority of the time,” he said. “We enjoy staying there. But we’re not there yet to justify the time and effort required to combine residences.”
There are six apartments in total between the two units
The apartments contain six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms, as well as a living area with 12-foot ceilings, a gas fireplace, and huge windows, a kitchen with Miele appliances and bespoke cabinetry, and a wine cellar, according to the ad. There is also a master suite with a skylight, fireplace, and dressing room.
In addition, there are six and a half restrooms
The Brewster Carriage House was first occupied in 1900 by Brewster and Co., a well-known horse carriage maker. Nine apartments make up the condominium conversion, which was finished in 2012.
