The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who is regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever graced the pitch, has broken a whole host of records during his two decade spell in the upper echelons of football.

And a number of these will require a monumental effort by other players if they are to be taken away from the Portuguese icon.

Let’s take a look at six Ronaldo records that may never be broken.

Only player to score 50+ goals in six consecutive seasons

The six seasons saw Ronaldo score 53, 60, 55, 51, 61 and 51 goals respectively between 2010/11 and 2015/16.

For comparison, long-term rival Lionel Messi has not scored more than 50 goals in six different seasons throughout his career- let alone six consecutive campaigns.

Only player to score 10+ goals in seven Champions League seasons

Ronaldo has hit the 10 goal mark in seven different Champions League seasons throughout his career.

And as if that couldn’t be enough, the achievement took place consecutively between 2011/12 and 2017/18 as he helped Los Blancos to four titles.

Ronaldo is the highest goalscorer in the history of the Champions League with 140 – 11 ahead of Messi with 129.

Most goals in international football

Ronaldo has scored 122 goals in 198 appearances for Portugal since making his debut all the way back in 2003.

The previous record was held by Iranian striker Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals during his 13 year-spell with the national side.

Of his 122 strikes, eight have arrived in the World Cup and 14 have come in the European Championships – a tournament high.

Only player to score 60+ goals in four consecutive calendar years

Between 2011 and 2014, Ronaldo scored 60, 63, 69 and 61 goals during each calendar year.

The run came to an end when he agonisingly fell three goals short in 2015.

Messi holds the record for the most goals scored in a calendar year with 91 for Barcelona and Argentina in 2012.

Most European Golden Shoe awards

Ronaldo first won the individual accolade in 2007/08 with Manchester United, before adding another three with Real Madrid in 2010/11, 2013/14 and 2014/15.

Ronaldo was forced to share the award with Luis Suarez in 2013/14 when the Uruguayan notched 31 for Liverpool in the Premier League.

Only player to win every trophy at two different clubs

Ronaldo is the only player in the history of football to have won the domestic league, domestic trophy, domestic super cup, Champions League and Club World Cup with two different teams.

These incredible trophy hauls came when Ronaldo was playing in his first spell at Manchester United and then Real Madrid.

And on top of that, Ronaldo won the Player of the Year Award, Golden Boot and the Ballon d’Or at the same time at United and Madrid.
