Tiger Woods has responded to the setback of Jon Rahm’s departure by adding three big names to his TGL team at Jupiter Links GC. The golfing legend, who co-founded the innovative league with Rory McIlroy, will represent his hometown of Jupiter in the inaugural season set to kick off in 2025.

Five months after being named owner of the Jupiter franchise, Woods has enlisted PGA Tour veteran Kevin Kisner, six-time winner Max Homa, and rising South Korean star Tom Kim to his team.

However, the journey hasn’t been smooth for TGL. Last year, the tech-based league had to postpone their launch from 2024 to 2025 due to damage to their purpose-built SoFi Center stadium.

They are also still on the hunt for two new additions to complete their roster, following the lure of LIV Golf which led to Rahm reneging on his commitment to compete on the TGL circuit and instead opting for the Saudi switch.

Rahm has made a strategic move by signing his Ryder Cup ally Hatton to join his newly-minted LIV team, Legion XIII. Despite being initially listed in the TGL roster, Hatton’s name has since vanished from the league’s website due to his commitments to the controversial LIV series.

Woods expressed his enthusiasm about the league and his team: “I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product,” he said. “Now that we have finalised our roster with a team of world-class golfers, I am even more confident that this group will proudly represent the Jupiter area and connect with our fans for years to come.”

Homa’s addition to the team is a masterstroke, given his meteoric rise in the golfing world over the past three years, which includes five victories and a commendable Ryder Cup debut last Autumn.

Homa is thrilled at the prospect of playing alongside a legend like Tiger Woods, saying: “Following Tiger’s career is one of the main reasons that I became an avid golfer.”

He added, “I remember watching him win the 1997 Masters, and now getting to play alongside him has been amazing.
