The 2024 PGA Championship gave us one of the best major championship finishes in recent years.
Xander Schauffele finally got his major championship, birdieing the 18th hole for the win, finishing one stroke ahead of Bryson DeChambeau, who made it extremely close down the stretch of the final round.
Phil Mickelson, who knows a thing or two about winning the PGA Championship, had a cool message for Xander following the final round on Sunday night.
“What an exciting PGA Championship at Valhalla. Congrats to Xander who was solid all day and delivered when he needed it most. Bryson continues to be fascinating and exciting to watch while Hovland shows he too is on the verge of greatness. A great weekend for golf,” Mickelson wrote on social media.
Golf will return to major championship play in June, for the 2024 U.S Open at Pinehurst No. 2.
The third major tournament of the year will take place from Thursday, June 13 until Sunday, June 16. It should be a very fun one down in the Carolinas.
You would have to expect Scottie Scheffler to enter the tournament as the clear favorite.
