Charlie Woods latest result sees him reach career-high in Junior Golf Rankings

Tiger Woods’ son Charlie Woods finishes first in his qualifier for the 2024 US Junior Amateur and now rises to the highest rank of his junior career in every category.

Tiger Woods’ son Charlie Woods has surged to a career-high of 38th in the ‘Class of 2027’ per The Universal Golf Rankings (TUGR) as a result of him winning a tournament that qualifies him for next month’s US Junior Amateur at Oakland Hills.

Woods, 15, carded a brilliant round of 1-under 71 last week to better 74 players at Eagle Trace Golf Club.

It now means Woods will compete in his first-ever USGA tournament at the end of July.

The victory also sees Charlie now vault to a career-best of 38th per the TUGR Junior Rankings.

Charlie has also assumed the highest rank of his junior career across every category.

The TUGR tweeted this week:

‘Charlie Woods moves up to 38th in the Class of 2027 per TUGR Junior Rankings. After finishing 1st in his qualifier for the US Junior Am, he’s currently at the highest rank of his junior career in every category. Very much a D1 prospect and trending in the right direction.’

Charlie will now bid to win the US Junior Amateur Championship that his father and 15-time major champion Tiger Woods won three times from 1991 to 1993.

The US Junior Amateur consists of two rounds of stroke play, with the top 64 players moving forward to a match play stage.

The eventual winner will earn a spot in the 2025 US Open at Oakmont.

Charlie was recently called in to help his father out with his golf swing at the 2024 US Open at Pinehurst No.2, but unfortunately Woods would go on to miss the cut.

Tiger Woods, 48, is not expected to tee it up in competition again until the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon in Scotland from 18-21 July.

News came to light earlier this week that Woods is targeting a debut season on the PGA Tour Champions in 2026.

He may also may able to use a golf cart should he so wish to at the 2026 US Senior Open, if the USGA wish to change their rules for him.

Charlie Woods is in action again this week

Charlie Woods is currently in action at the 54-hole Press Thornton Future Masters.

He is competing in the 232-player 15-18 category at Dothan Country Club in Alabama.

Charlie opened with a 3-over 73.
