Phil Mickelson came up with a unique idea of organizing a short 2 vs. 2 face-off over nine holes in the LIV Golf Chicago week. Dubbed the ‘Pros vs Schmoes’ matchup, the game will feature two amateurs paired against Phil Mickelson and a HyFlyers GC member.
Recently, Mickelson joined a press conference before the LIV Golf Greenbrier and elaborated on his ideal ‘schmo’ to play against at Chicago. Describing the characteristics, Mickelson emphasized that they should be enthusiastic about golf and should not mind indulging in playful banter. He said (via ASAP Sports):
“I think the perfect Schmo is somebody that loves golf; that is fun; that can laugh at himself but can also give somebody a little bit of grief in a fun way. Like so it’s not like in your face, but is a little bit more lighthearted. Like has a good delivery. I think that’s going to be key. So these videos are going to be able to tell a lot on how well they are going to be able to different it and how well they are going to be able to take it,” Phil Mickelson said.TrendingWATCH: Phil Mickelson hits a near-impossible shot at the LIV golf 2024 Greenbrier event5 golfers in danger of missing the rest of the FedEx Cup playoffs going into the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship, ft. Going out with their local group and giving their buddies a hard time and enjoying everybody he is accompany and that’s what it’s about.
