Wildlife enthusiast Christa Coetzee and a friend saw a jackal going for a marabou stork, but then lost it in the hunt. This absolutely incredible sighting happened in the Pilanesberg Private Game Reserve. Christa tells s.allplaynews.com the story:
βWe were making our way to a waterhole near Bakubung, as there is usually a lot of activity. We saw a black-backed jackal amongst marabou storks and some other animals. The jackal seemed interested in some of the birds.β
Not the small and easy birds to ππΎππ though β no this jackal was one brave and strong hunter. He went for a marabou stork!

βBy the end of it all, we lost sight of the jackal with its prize as the tall grass blocked our view. One really just has to be patient, when observing animals. Anything can happen at any time.β
