Fournier provided insights similar to those of Luka Doncic, emphasizing that it is easier to score in the NBA than in Europe.

Fournier spoke to the media during his Olympiacos presentation and explained that although NBA players are superior on-ball defenders, European basketball’s defensive systems are more challenging due to stronger help defense.

According to him, in Europe, there is always additional defensive support after a player beats the initial defender, making it more difficult to find open shots.

“In the NBA, they are better on-ball defenders, they can run you off the line faster,” Fournier said.

“But if you beat your first guy, then it’s easier. That’s why guys like Luka [Doncic]say it’s easier to score in the NBA.” he added

The combination of quicker, individual defense in the NBA and more complex team-oriented defense in Europe creates contrasting experiences for players.
