Golden State Warriors Unbeaten in NBA Summer League 2024: Surprise from “Old Man” New York Knicks

Besides the young players who are playing well, the Golden State Warriors have had extremely positive contributions from Kevin Knox II, a player who was once very potential but is gradually being pushed out of the NBA.

If we had to choose the team with the best form in the 2024 NBA Summer League, many experts and fans would name the Golden State Warriors.

The Chase Center team is on an eight-game unbeaten streak all summer, including three wins in the California Classic and five losses in the 2024 NBA Summer League.

Brandin Podziemski and the Golden State Warriors are unbeaten in all eight games this summer.

In their most recent appearance, the Warriors defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 90-83 on July 20 to maintain their winning streak.

Six Golden State players scored 10 or more points, led by guard Pat Spencer (17 PTS). Other notable names included Quinten Post, Jackson Rowe, Yuri Collins, Daeqwon Plowden and Kevin Knox II.

Like the previous 7 matches, the Warriors completely took the initiative against OKC. Although there was a little “threat” from the Thunder when the score was equalized at 80-80 in the last 3 minutes of the match, the Golden Gate team ended the match with a series of 10-3 points.

There are many players who contributed to this winning streak of the Golden State Warriors. But the most prominent and interesting is Kevin Knox II, the player who was selected with the 9th round in the NBA Draft 6 years ago.

Try your luck with Kevin Knox II

There are many reasons why the Golden State Warriors decided to give Kevin Knox II a chance.

First, the player 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 1999 has a long arm span and is quite hard-working in defense. Second, the Warriors have almost nothing to lose with Knox because the two sides only reached a contract agreement to play in the Summer League.

As a player who was once selected in the Lottery (first 14 picks) but is gradually being pushed out of the NBA, Kevin Knox is very eager to show himself and has shown his determination in the Golden State shirt this summer.

Kevin Knox II was once a potential player and was expected to become a star, but he is gradually “kicked out” of the NBA.

For example, in the most recent match, Knox had the highest plus/minus rating on the team thanks to his defensive efforts, grabbing 10 rebounds along with 14 points scored in 24 minutes on the field.

In his entire NBA career up to this point, Kevin Knox II has played 306 games in 6 years for 4 different teams (not counting Summer League). He averaged 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds with a 34.1% 3PT shooting percentage per game.

If he performs well enough, Knox II could very well earn a spot on the Golden State Warriors roster next season, or at least find more opportunities at other NBA clubs.

Kevin Knox II is working hard to show his talent for Golden State in the Summer League.

The NBA Summer League will take place from July 13 to July 23 with the participation of all 30 NBA teams. The teams will be scheduled to play 4 games to find the 4 teams with the best records to enter the semi-finals. Unlike the NBA Playoffs where teams compete in a 7-game series, the Summer League semi-finals and finals will be single-elimination matches.

In addition to the four semi-finalists, the remaining 26 teams will be paired up to play an additional friendly match. Thus, of the 30 clubs participating in the NBA Summer League, 28 teams will play five matches. The two finalists will play a total of six matches.
