Christian Koloko Makes Bold Statement After Officially Joining the Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed Christian Koloko to a two-way contract, waiving Blake Hinson to make room for the talented center. After being medically cleared following career-threatening blood clot issues, Koloko expressed his excitement about joining one of the NBA’s most storied franchises.

In a statement, Koloko said: “I’ve been through a lot this past year, and to come back stronger and join the Lakers is a dream come true. I’m ready to give my all and help this team in any way I can.”

Koloko, originally drafted by the Toronto Raptors in 2022, has averaged 3.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in his NBA career. Now fully cleared, the 24-year-old is eager to prove himself in the purple and gold jersey, especially after overcoming such significant health challenges.

“I’m thankful for the support I’ve received and for the Lakers believing in me. I’m ready to make the most of this opportunity,” Koloko added.

With Christian Wood injured, Koloko’s addition brings much-needed depth to the Lakers’ frontcourt. Fans and teammates alike are excited to see what he brings to the team as they gear up for the upcoming season.
