During the Canucks-Kraken preseason matchup on Tuesday, chaos broke loose on the ice after Will Borgen hit Conor Garland late in the second period.

In response to the hit, Canucks’ Tyler Myers entered the fray and came charging in, attempting to retaliate against Kraken’s Brogen by smashing him into the boards.

The situation became even more heated as Borgen appeared to be challenged by the entire Vancouver bench, adding to the on-ice drama. Watch the video here:

As a result, Will Borgen was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for roughing against Conor Garland, followed by another two-minute minor for roughing against Nils Hoglander.

Meanwhile, Hoglander also received a two-minute minor penalty for roughing against Borgen, while Tyler Myers was penalized with a two-minute minor for roughing against Borgen.

Arturs Silvos shines for Canucks in preseason against Kraken

On Tuesday, the Vancouver Canucks hosted the Seattle Kraken at the Rogers Arena for their preseason clash. Netminder Arturs Silvos shone for the home team with an impressive performance and remarkable saves between the pipes.

He conceded one goal on 19 shots and posted a .947 SV% on the night. Meanwhile, 20-year-old winger Jonathan Lekkerinaki accumulated two assists, while Filip Hronek, Hoglander and Pius Suter scored in Vancouver’s 3-1 win over Seattle in their preseason opener.

It marked consecutive defeats for the Kraken in the preseason. The two teams will meet again at the Climate Pledge Arena on Friday.

Thatcher Demko’s status for opening night is in question

Demko ended last season sidelined with an injury, with Silvos replacing him during the playoffs. With the entire offseason to recuperate, there were high hopes for Demko to be ready for the season opener.

However, uncertainty surrounds his availability for the first game, as he wasn’t available for the opening day of training camp. In a development that has captured attention, the 28-year-old netminder is expected to address the media on Thursday to provide an update on his health.

The situation keeps fans and the team on edge as they await further information about his condition and potential return to the ice.
