In Nosferatu (2024), the full official trailer, slated for release in December, teases a chilling reimagining of the classic vampire horror. Directed by Robert Eggers, this gothic nightmare takes viewers back to the eerie, shadowy world of Eastern Europe, where an ancient evil awakens.

The trailer opens with foreboding landscapesโtwisting mountains, dense fog, and a decaying castle perched ominously on a cliff. Jonathan Harker (played by Nicholas Hoult) is introduced as a naive real estate agent sent to close a deal with a mysterious client in Transylvania. His journey, filled with ominous warnings from terrified locals, foreshadows the horrors to come. The moment he arrives at Count Orlokโs castle, the tone shifts. Orlok, portrayed by Willem Dafoe, is grotesque and unsettling, his appearance veiled in shadow and his elongated fingers gripping the dimly lit halls.
As the trailer progresses, flashes of horror unfold. Jonathan begins to suspect that Orlok is not human, shown through spine-chilling moments of the Count creeping through hallways and scaling walls like a spider. Quick cuts reveal Orlok feeding on unsuspecting victims, draining their life force as his gaunt, horrifying face becomes more monstrous with each feeding.
The dread intensifies when Harkerโs fiancรฉe, Ellen (played by Lily-Rose Depp), is introduced, back in their hometown. She is seen suffering from strange visions and nightmares that foretell Orlokโs arrival. The trailer hints at an inevitable confrontation as Orlok becomes obsessed with Ellen, drawn to her innocence and beauty. Jonathanโs desperate attempts to escape the castle are mirrored with Ellenโs increasing fear, as her connection to the vampire grows stronger.
The final moments of the trailer build to a fever pitch: townspeople fleeing in terror, blood-drenched scenes of Orlok stalking his prey, and a climactic shot of Ellen standing alone in her room as a shadowy figure approaches. The screen cuts to black with a haunting whisper: “Nosferatu.”
