There’s buzz about a “13 Ghosts” TV series making its way to the screen. Patrick Mediate from Primordial Pictures and Aaron McLane, known for his work on “Fear the Walking Dead,” have teamed up with Dark Castle Entertainment. They’ve exclusively told Dread Central about their plans to pitch the series to Sony Pictures Television. This venture would breathe new life into the franchise, marking its first appearance since the 2001 remake by Steve Beck and Dark Castle, and its debut on television. While it’s not a done deal yet, the excitement is real. Ashley Robinson, who co-produces “Fear the Walking Dead,” is on board too.
The creators note:Every culture in the world has its ghost stories, and this re-imagining of 13 Ghosts presents an international sampling of these supernatural tales. The ghost stories within each episode will have their own stylistic look and feel that will be explored and influenced by each individual director. This makes our ghost vignettes stand out stylistically as they set the theme for each episode.
The team is also exploring an innovative AR feature for “13 Ghosts” that would let viewers use an app to encounter extra ghosts on their screens and even in their homes while watching the series.
How do you feel about this? Are you thrilled at the prospect of a “13 Ghosts” TV series?
