The trailer for Home Education, a chilling psychological horror film from 2023, has been released, offering a haunting glimpse into the twisted world of a young girl who begins to question her mother’s fanatical beliefs.
In Home Education, Rachel, a teenage girl raised in seclusion deep in the woods, finds her isolated life shattered when her father, Philip, dies. Her mother, Carol, becomes even more overbearing, forcing Rachel to follow strange rituals, even insisting that Philip’s decaying corpse remain in their home as Carol makes disturbing attempts to bring him back to life. Confined by the cult-like teachings her family lives by, Rachel’s understanding of the world is warped, with only occasional ventures into the woods offering glimpses of freedom. But as whispers of her father’s mysterious disappearance spread beyond the forest, their secluded existence is in danger of exposure, and Rachel begins to grapple with a terrifying reality.
Directed and written by Andrea Niada, the film stars Julia Ormond as the fanatical mother, Carol, alongside Lydia Page as Rachel and Rocco Fasano. Home Education promises an unnerving exploration of control, fanaticism, and the horrific unraveling of one girl’s reality.
