Universal Pictures has officially greenlit Hobbs & Shaw 2, the anticipated follow-up to the 2019 blockbuster Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. The film reunites Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw for another explosive, high-stakes adventure. Directed by David Leitch, who helmed the original, the sequel aims to up the ante with thrilling action, unexpected character returns, and new, menacing villains.
Set to delve into Hobbs and Shaw’s complex backstories, Hobbs & Shaw 2 will reportedly explore the duo’s uneasy partnership as they embark on a mission that takes them across continents. The storyline introduces a fresh antagonist, rumored to be portrayed by Keanu Reeves. Universal has kept Reeves’ role under wraps, but sources hint at a brilliant yet ruthless mercenary intent on reshaping the balance of global power.
