The milestones have been piling up for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. McDavid reached 1,000 career points in a win over Nashville on November 14th, while Draisaitl reached a milestone of his own, registering his 900th career point in Thursday night’s 3-2 win over the Bruins.
Draisaitl recorded point number 900 on an overtime assist to Mattias Ekholm as a part of a three-assist night for the German superstar.
Oilers captain Connor McDavid spoke to the media this afternoon and shared his thoughts on Draisaitl’s accomplishment. He made sure to praise his running mate:
“Incredible accomplishment to do it so quickly. You know, just an amazing feat. He’s been amazing all year, all his career. Just impressive to see every single day… I think there’s always those moments… Leo makes a great pass or scores a great goal, or one of his one-timers from the corner. He makes it look easy, but it’s not.”

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl continue to dominate the National Hockey League
As has been the case for the majority of their careers, McDavid and Draisaitl are among the league leaders in points. The two superstars have formed a dynamic duo that has become an unstoppable force for the rest of the league.
Draisaitl is currently second in the league in points (50 in 32 games) behind Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon, while owning sole possession of the league lead in goals with 23. Connor McDavid is sixth in the league in points (45 points) despite missing three games earlier in the season with a lower-body injury.
It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone if we see McDavid and Draisaitl both among the top three in league scoring by the end of the 2024-2025 campaign. All that’s left for them to do is win that elusive Stanley Cup.
