Pixar Animation Studios is diving back into the emotional world of Riley Andersen with Inside Out 3, the highly anticipated third chapter in the groundbreaking franchise. Scheduled for a 2026 release, this installment promises to take audiences on a deeply relatable journey, exploring the challenges of early adulthood with all-new emotional twists.
In Inside Out 3, Riley, now in her early 20s, is navigating the complex realities of adult life, including moving to a new city, starting her career, and managing deeper relationships. With new challenges come new emotions, and Pixar is introducing three fresh characters to join Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. These new emotions include Guilt, Hope, and Loneliness, adding layers of depth to Riley’s emotional landscape.
Director Pete Docter, who helmed the original Inside Out, returns for this sequel. Speaking about the new film, Docter shared, “Adulthood is an emotional rollercoaster, and we felt there was so much more to explore in Riley’s story. This chapter allows us to tackle universal experiences like self-discovery and resilience, while still delivering the humor and heart audiences expect from Pixar.”
